Walker Agency
Strategist (Social)
Bournemouth
Competitive

We’re on the lookout for someone who can bring confident direction for how our clients can win across the full social ecosystem including owned, paid and earned channels.

Job Overview

Walker is one of the leading advertising agencies in the South – with an award-winning team and a fantastic portfolio of global clients including Mentos, Pukka, OS Maps, Monty Bojangles and many more.

We’re a UK Top 100 Creative Agency, ranked in the Top 20 outside of London and named in Campaign's Best Places to Work. Oh, and we’re located just a few minutes’ walk from the beach in Bournemouth. Our strategy team is growing, so we’re looking for someone who understands brand and comms planning, but with a particular focus on social.

The Role

We’re on the lookout for someone who can bring confident direction for how our clients (including OS Maps, Mentos, Juice Burst, Smint, Ageas) can win across the full social ecosystem including owned, paid and earned channels. You’ll understand how content pillars will flex with trends / commercial goals and be delivered true to platform - but also how this fits within their wider TTL mix.

We are looking for a Strategist with experience in devising integrated social plans that deliver against client objectives and deliver both short term social metrics and ladder up to long term effectiveness.

A successful candidate will need to sell innovative new approaches to social strategy, setting out clear rationale and implications for messaging, activation and phasing.

Responsibilities

  • The go-to for social strategy on a range of clients (content pillars, KPI’s, scheduling, phasing etc).
  • Conduct social landscape and cultural analysis to identify how people are behaving and why.
  • Understand and articulate the target audience and uncover their platform behaviours, attitudes and nuances.
  • Oversee the briefing and production of assets (and audit content performance).
  • Devise a compelling activation plan detailing how we will convey the messaging including what social mechanics will best deliver.
  • Confidently lead client social briefings and responses (plus support in workshops).
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in advertising and marketing strategy.
  • Help feed into wider brand strategy (including brand positioning / tone of voice / comms planning).

Why Walker?

  • A family feel, independent agency where you'll have the chance to grow.
  • Work from home Monday and Friday.
  • 25 days of holiday, with an additional day each year for volunteering work.
  • A career development budget for training courses, books, and events.
  • A Cycle to Work scheme, table tennis, and a paddleboard or e-bike to take out when you feel like it.
  • Company Pension Scheme.
  • Vibrant Workspace: Enjoy a fun, very dog-friendly office with a fully stocked kitchen.
  • Named in Campaign's Best Places to Work.
  • People stay with us 4x longer than the industry average (we must be doing something right!)
